Why this role matters:

As Marketing & Comms Specialist for ICEYE Portugal, you’ll own the regional voice of ICEYE - telling our story to the Portuguese defence, space and policy ecosystem, supporting the Portuguese Air Force programme launch, and building the ICEYE brand from a standing start in Lisbon. You’re the bridge between Helsinki HQ marketing and the local market.

Your day-to-day responsibilities

• Plan and execute the ICEYE Portugal communications including press events, social, videos, customer storytelling, joint comms with the local partners

• Own day-to-day local content: press releases, blog posts, executive briefing materials, LinkedIn presence, video scripts, photography, customer case studies.

• Build and run a defence / tech PR programme with a local agency partner - reactive media, owned-media calendar, executive thought leadership for the CEO.

• Coordinate ICEYE presence at key Iberian / EU events (Eurosatory, Web Summit, NATO Industry Forum, EUMETSAT, Atlantic Constellation events, university partnerships).

• Localise global campaigns and messaging into Portuguese; be the brand guardian for the Portuguese subsidiary.

• Support hiring as part of employer branding - work with the Head of People & Operations on EVP, recruitment marketing and university outreach.

• Coordinate with ICEYE Spain SL on cross-Iberian programmes and with Helsinki HQ on global narrative consistency.

• Maintain the local marketing CRM, event budget and KPI dashboard; report to global Marketing on quarterly outcomes.

What we’re looking for

Must haves:

• 5+ years in B2B / B2G marketing & communications, with at least 2 years in defence, aerospace, GovTech, deep-tech or scale-up environments in Portugal.

• Strong written voice in both Portuguese and English; comfortable ghost-writing for executives.

• Hands-on experience running press events, owned media (LinkedIn, blog, YouTube), and PR-agency relationships.

• Comfortable with classification-aware communication - knows how to tell a defence / sensitive customer story without compromising operational security.

• Excellent project management instincts and budget discipline.

Nice to haves:

• Network among Portuguese defence, space, R&D and policy media (Diário de Notícias, Observador, Lusa, Negócios, Jornal de Defesa, Spacenews PT, Tek-Sapo, Eco).

• Experience with the Portuguese Space Agency, Atlantic Constellation programme, ESA BIC Tagus+, IAPMEI, or any of the Portuguese space / defence primes.

• Working level of Spanish.

• Familiarity with marketing tools (HubSpot, Marketo, Sprinklr) and basic creative production (Figma, Canva, Adobe).

Base salary range for this position is contingent on your experience and will be negotiated individually.
