**About Gravitics**

At Gravitics, we're not just exploring space—we're building it. We're creating the infrastructure for a thriving space economy, enabling humanity to flourish beyond Earth. Our vision is bold, but we're not just dreamers; we're doers. We design and manufacture the large-scale structures and systems that will power human and robotic activity in Earth orbit and beyond. If you're ready to lay the foundations for a new era in space, embrace a culture of relentless learning and innovation, and contribute to a future where humanity's reach extends farther, Gravitics is the place for you. Let's build the future, together.

**About the Role**

To build our space systems, we need rockstars of all experience levels who can directly work the full product lifecycle of several challenging assemblies, including pressurized structures, launch adapters, mechanisms, tooling, and more.

**Responsibilities:**

- Work with a team of all-star responsible engineers working on an advanced highly capable kick stage vehicle, steering the design of pressurized weldment structures, integrated subsystems, payload accommodations, separation systems, and more

- Clearly communicate technical concepts and programmatic elements to your team, colleagues, executive leadership, and customers

- Create mechanical design and integrated vehicle layouts that meet all requirements

- Create detailed component and assembly drawings incorporating an understanding of GD&T and tolerance stack-ups

- Design test plans and generate verification reports

- Work with suppliers and our manufacturing team to make your designs reality.

- Be a reliable expert of your system, from concept to mission control console.

**About You**

You’re a successful candidate if you are a giver, not a taker. You have an ability to make things happen. You are exceptional at several things, yet willing to take on efforts in areas of weakness.

**_Required Attributes_**

- Demonstrated past ownership of complex projects.

- Expert level technical knowledge in any of the following disciplines: primary, secondary structures, mechanisms, pressure systems, or other areas related to kick stage vehicles

- Knowledge of loads such as pressure, vibration, shock, thermal, and how to design for them.

- 5+ years of industry experience in mechanical or aerospace engineering.

- Familiarity with CAD packages such as NX/Solidworks

- Analysis using tools such as Simcenter, FEMAP, Nastran, Ansys, Abaqus, or LS-Dyna

- Strong understanding and application of drafting standards and GD&T (ASME Y14.5) in creating drawings.

- Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field.

**_Bonus Points for_**

- Ownership of the technical development of major systems on a space vehicle or launch vehicle through the entirety of its design cycle: conceptualization, system level trades, design, analysis, test, build, integration, and flight operations

- Structural optimization using standard industry codes (HEEDS, HyperX, Optistruct, NX Topology, Nastran Sol 200, Attune (IMAT))

- Deep working knowledge in analysis of welds and other joints, design for manufacturability, and heat treat properties.

- Experience with NASGRO

- Familiarity with AIAA S-080

- Rigging and lifting analysis for large metallic structures

- Familiarity with industry standard weld codes such as AWS D17.1, AWS D1.1, AWS D1.2
