**About the Role**

We're looking for a teammate experienced in fabricating and assembling large structures. Beyond your hands-on work, we'll be looking to you for your feedback as we build a team where everyone does a bit of everything. More than anything, we are seeking a motivated candidate with a mind for solving unique manufacturing challenges. This role is focused on building space rated metallic structures. The role could entail working in confided spaces, loud environments, and with hazardous chemicals.

**Responsibilities:**

- Cut, form, and weld both steel and aluminum from engineering drawings and instructions

- Provide feedback on designs and manufacturing methods

- Use precision calibrated tools – torque wrenches, micrometers, and calipers etc.

- Read and interpret technical drawings, and follow detailed work instructions

- Operate cranes, forklifts and other Heavy equipment

- Operate manufacturing equipment such as water jets, CNC mills, etc.

- Help create a next generation manufacturing center for very large space systems

- Help implement and maintain systems for safety, compliance, and industry best practices

- Maintain a clean and thoughtfully organized work area

- Owner of processes and operations on the shop floor

- Resolve issues independently or with engineering as required

- Follow OSHA safety standards

**About You**

You’re a successful candidate if you like working on a variety of projects and don’t mind shifting priorities. You have enough experience to help coach a team, and are open to try things you’ve never done before. You can take guidance from engineering and use it to make go- no go decisions and have an eye for quality.

**Required Attributes**

- High school diploma or equivalency Certificate

- Hands on experience welding with any or all of the following: MIG/TIG/Laser systems for both steel and aluminum

- Experience leading or coaching teams

- Ability to be on site and work daily with large metal assemblies

- Commitment to safety and pride in your work

- 5+ years in a fabrication/ Manufacturing environment

- Willingness to learn new tools and processes

- Ability to maintain equipment per manuals/ instructions

- Ability to lift up to 50 Lbs, sit, and stand for extended periods of time

**Bonus Points for**

- A proven history of forming large metal structures

- Experience in Class A welds (per AWS D17.1)

- Experience with Non-Destructively evaluated welds ( X-ray, Eddy Current, Ultrasound)

- Experience executing detailed procedures for assembly and testing

- Experience in an environment where traceability is critical

- Experience in safety critical environments including working with hazardous materials and pressurized systems

- A&P license or experience working on large, engineered assemblies in the military

- Experience working in a cleanroom environment

- Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging work environment

- Proficiency with computers and Microsoft office
